But, when it has come to her tour, she has “hit” a few road blocks. From having her tour bus stopped for weed to showing up late for the shows altogether, lots of people aren’t too happy about that aspect of her mystique. But, one fan in the UK decided that they were going to seize the moment by “reaching out” for the real Rihanna experience. So, in Rihanna typical manner, she had to “hit” them with the real!

I was heavy, bloated, tired, sluggish, sore and not feeling good.

My clothes were tight; my shoes too.

My skin was irritated and so was I.

I needed to change my habits because those habits were affecting EVERYTHING.

So, I went on a 21-day cleanse, and the results have been amazing!

Here’s how it all started: I recently switched positions here at CBS Radio and I now have to wake up at 3:30 a.m. .

It’s an understatement for me to say I was struggling. Imagine a brick keeps hitting you in the head at the same time someone is dragging you out of the bed, but your physically still sleeping and your brain hurts – literally hurts – trying to wake up all your senses.

That’s how I felt EVERY morning. I would stand in the shower and cry, real tears (not water from the shower rolling down my cheeks). I wondered if I was really made for this type of regimen.

It didn’t help that I drank five cups of coffee per day, took 5-Hour Energy shots like I was at Happy Hour, and didn’t alter my diet of sugar, meat and bad carbohydrates to any degree.

I always felt like I needed a nap – because I did!

Needless to say, again, I decided it was time for a change. I wanted and needed more energy, needed to feel lighter and more clear, wanted to look better in my clothes.

Honestly, weight loss was on my mind, but getting healthy was my definite priority.

I decided to go on a 21-day cleanse consisting of a vegan diet for 5 days (no dairy, no caffeine, no alcohol, no meat, no sugar), followed by 10 days of pure juicing (no hard food) ending in a slow transition back to the vegan diet and other foods that are healthy.

Sound tough? IT IS.

Days 1-3 were pure hell. I had not gone 72 hours without a single cup of coffee since I was stranded on a deserted island in Brazil at a yoga retreat from hell that I volunteered to go on with my best girlfriend in the late ’90s.

I was so irritable on that trip, I wasn’t sure I would survive 21 days. Each of those first days I went downstairs to the Starbucks just to inhale the aroma – it was THAT bad.

But luckily the owner of the store I buy my products from made me a concoction of something made with cocoa nibs that magically helped me get through it.

Day 4 was MUCH better. In fact, I started believing I was going to make it all the way.

Today, is Day 17. I am feeling energized, healthy and lighter – THIRTEEN pounds down! And my dresses fit well, again!

I am going to stay on a vegan diet for as long as I can. I am not drinking coffee anymore and I plan to severely limit my alcohol intake to special occasions two or three times a year.

I feel too good to go back.

My daughter has even adopted some of the habits I am displaying around our home, and she is getting healthier too. That’s the best part of the cleanse.

So when the alarm clock rings at 3:30 a.m., I’m up, refreshed and ready to take on the world.

I was surprised too. So I asked him how he got into the music industry:

“I’ve been writing since I was 9 years old. But I wasn’t serious about it. But when I got out of jail in 2011 I decided to go in.”

And that’s just what he did. In the beginning of 2012 he dropped his first mixtape “I Go In On Every Song” and created a buzz for himself. He realized he needed to change his course because “burglary” and other side hustles weren’t working in his best interest.

Now he has three big songs in the streets, “Better Watch What You Saying”, “Differences”, and “Some Type Of Way” from his mixtape Still Goin In! He’s doing his thing and you can catch him this Saturday at the 10th Annual Car and Bike Show.

Get there early because all of Atlanta is coming out to see him. The phones were ringing off the hook. Even his mom and nephew called it.

DeKalb District Attorney Robert James, in an afternoon news conference, said Ellis is charged with extortion and other felonies for soliciting campaign contributions under threat.

The indictment, as read by James, says Ellis extorted CIBER Inc., a vendor in DeKalb, by threating a local manager. The indictment says Ellis threatened to tell CIBER’s CEO the local manager, Joanne Wise, delivered poor customer service if she did not agree to a campaign contribution. The indictment said Ellis acted similarly with other vendors and used DeKalb employees to draft lists of contractors doing business with DeKalb for the purpose of extorting them for campaign cash.

The indictment was returned even as a lawsuit brought by a member of a special purpose grand jury was trying to force DeKalb County Judge Mark Anthony Scott, who was overseeing the special purpose grand jury, to release their report on the investigation that possibly led to the indictment.

It was not immediately known if that report was made public.

For a year, the grand jury investigated possible corruption in the county water and sewer department contracts and eventually it led to search warrants being executed at Ellis’ home and office and at the home and of attorney Kevin Ross, the CEO’s former campaign manager.

Ross was not indicted. None of the companies named in the search warrants were included in Tuesday’s indictment.

Here are the charges against Ellis:

Count 1 – Criminal attempt to commit theft by extortion. Between Feb 17, 2012 and March 21, 2012, attempted to commit theft by extortion. As public official to obtain campaign contribution, Cyber Inc. and JoAnne Wise, threatening to take and withhold action to prevent Cyber Inc. from receiving business from DeKalb. And to end its business with DeKalb after Wise did not respond to demand for money and to say they would not contribute.

Count 2 — Ellis threatened to hurt her reputation if she did not contribute to his campaign.

Count 3 — On June 25, 2012 tried to extort campaign contribution Power and Energy Services. Brandon Cummings did not respond to requests for contribution and after was told Power and Energy would not contribute.

Count 4 — Sept. 25 2012 – Conspiracy with Kevin Walton director of purchasing for unreasonable restraint of trade. Told Walton to prevent work for Power and Energy.

Counts six and seven – Ellis put notes in files that Power and Electric did not return phone calls.

Count 8 — Theft by taking services – ordered Walton to use DeKalb Board meeting agendas and contracting information to create a list of vendors awarded contracts to include contact information so could use vendor list to solicit contributions.

Count 9 — For delivery of the lists for Walton during working hours to R.L. Brown and Associates to make calls

Count 10 – Conspiracy to defraud a political subdivision. Theft of property using Kelvin Walton and three others. Told Walton during normal working hours to use board of commissioner meeting agendas and data to create lists of vendors to use for soliciting campaign contributions.

Legend premiered his new single, “Made To Love” on Monday (June 17) via the blog, Hello Beautiful. The song has a little bit of that spaghetti western feel Legend nailed on his song, “Who Did That To You,” which was his contribution to the movie, Django Unchained. But for this one, Legend manages to add a bit of EDM and a dash of classical flair that includes a segment of operatic vocals. On this one, percussion (specifically African tribal drums and handclaps) take the place of his usual piano-centric melody as he croons, “I was sent here for you/We were made to love.”

Kimbra, who sang on Gotye’s 2012 smash hit “Somebody That I Used To Know,” provides the haunting backup vocals and even shows off her scatting skills. The song was produced by Da Internz, Dave Tozer, Nana Kwabena and Kanye West. Legend has worked with Kanye before and is reportedly featured on the rapper’s most recent album, Yeezus.

The song will be on Legend’s upcoming album Love In The Future, out June 25. This is his first studio album since 2008′s Evolver.

“It was never my intention to desecrate the flag of the United States of America. I was shooting a video for a song off my album entitled ‘God Bless Amerika’. The clip that surfaced on the Internet was a camera trick clip that revealed that behind the American Flag was the Hoods of America. In the final edit of the video you will see the flag fall to reveal what is behind it but will never see it on the ground. In most people eyes including my own who were raised in that environment, the Hood is the only America they know and the only America I knew growing up. I was fortunate from my God giving talents to escape the Hood and see the other beautiful places this country has to offer but most people who are born in that environment don’t get that chance. Why does my credit score affect my ability to get a fair rate on homeowners insurance?

Homeowner’s insurance companies are in the business of risk. They try to estimate how many claims their customers will file each year. They are finding that those with lower credit scores (typically those who are less financially responsible) are much more likely to file an insurance claim. These are riskier clients to insure. So insurance companies develop their own rating numbers for customers based on their credit scores and those with high scores are offered better rates, while those with lower scores can expect to pay more.

What can you do to get better rates??

Start by asking the insurance company what kind of scoring system they use. Ask if you qualify for the best rates and terms and if not, find out what you can do to qualify. Typically, anything that improves your credit score will also improve your insurance costs. Shopping around can insure that you find the best available price no matter what your credit score.
