And to think, these music industry powers once had this huge estate together they called Dreamland.
Now things between global hip-hop star Akon and UpFront Records founder DeVyne Stephens could hardly be described as dream-like, with this ongoing $150 million legal matter.
As Ryan Cameron said in today’s Ryan Report, Stephens sued Akon for that amount, claiming he’s supposed to get 40% of everything the recording artist behind such hits as “Smack That” and “Don’t Matter” has earned since 2006 – records sales, touring rights, royalties, EVERYTHING.
“They supposedly squashed the contract dispute in 2015,” Ryan continued. “Problem is – according to DeVyne – he still hasn’t seen a dime.”
And Akon’s reportedly earned nearly $400 million over the past decade.
