“Being Mary Jane” on the television show of the same name is apparently as trying as being the actress who portrays the title character.
Particularly when a promise is allegedly broken.
Gabrielle Union is suing BET for breach of contract, and seeking $1 million in damages. “In the lawsuit,” Big Tigger reported in today’s Trending Topics, “she said BET’s cramming 20 episodes of ‘Being Mary Jane‘ into one season – into Season 4 – instead of splitting them into two seasons.
“Problem is: She said network executives repeatedly promised her there would never be more than 13 episodes in a season. PLUS her contract clearly states she’ll get a pay raise from Season 4 to Season 5.
“How much?! $15000 an episode! Tigger continues. “She says BET’s trying to cut corners on production costs by doing the old two-for-one.”
Tigger’s preliminary verdict? “I don’t know, cousin.”
