Georgia Teacher Fired for Calling First Lady a “Gorilla”

Jane Wood Allen, a teacher’s aide at a Georgia elementary school, is in hot water after comparing the first lady Michelle Obama to a “gorilla” in a Facebook post. Wood’s Facebook has since been deleted, yet screenshots of the aide’s post has continued to circulate throughout the web.

In her most recent post the teacher’s aid was critical of the first lady’s physical appearance, referring to her as a “poor Gorilla” and commenting on Michelle Obama’s hair. The post was followed by a link to a news article from conservative site, American News.

“How is she going to function in the real world, by not having all of her luxurious vacations paid for anymore? She needs to focus on getting a total make-over (especially the hair), instead of planning vacations! She is a disgrace to America!”

Allen’s post spread fast across the platform with over 3,700 Facebook users sharing the aide’s controversial sentiments regarding the first lady. A large number of these Facebook users expressed their concern for the elementary aged children in Allen’s care.

“I am disgusted that this woman is an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EMPLOYEE,” an angered woman expressed in a Facebook post. This concerned Facebook user continued to encourage other local parents to contact the superintendent of Chestatee Elementary School and Allen’s employer.
