Organizers of the 2nd Annual National Day of Non-Violence are hoping it will bring everyone “together in unity to create peace in our community where so much violence is going on.” The groups Unite or Die and National Stop the Killing are among the groups bringing it all together in Atlanta. A silent march is scheduled for this Saturday at 1pm at 1241 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. On Sunday, September 18, a Streets Unite event with speakers will be held at 11am at 3642 Campbellton Road in Atlanta.
According to National Stop the Killing founder Yonasda Lonewolf, “If you are so tired of the violence that is our community, if you feel uncomfortable and say I have to make a change, come down to The Bluff.”
There are more than 20 cities across the United States that will be doing a solidarity walk on Saturday, September 17.
