Here you were probably thinking that Frank Ocean releasing two albums back-to-back was his way of thanking you, twice, for waiting four years between CDs.
Turns out, it was a pretty slick business move.
As Ryan Cameron put it in today’s Ryan Report, Ocean supposedly only had one more album left to complete on his major label record deal. And the day after the “Endless” visual album was released, he was basically independent.
“So his profits jumped from 14% to 70 % within 24 hours – pulling the biggest fast one on the biggest music company in the world in the process!”
