Seven years has passed since Cam’ron’s last studio album Crime Pays and 10 years since the 2006 release Killa Season. This fall, Crime Pays will get a followup and Killa Season will get a sequel with the release of Killa Season 2, which Cam’ron announced today via Facebook.
Since 2009, Cam’ron has diversified his business portfolio with his own strain of marijuana, collaborations with Reebok and his own line of shoes. The rapper even hawked ebola masks and Mother’s Day cards. He’s also dabbled in musical collaborations and released mixtapes like Federal Reserve and Ghetto Heaven Vol. 1.
Cam’ron’s Facebook announcement doesn’t specify a release date for Killa Season 2 but vaguely suggests “Fall 2016.” As summer melts into fall, expect more details, promotional singles and interviews to come. In 2014, the rapper said he’s retiring after the release of his next album…time will tell if he was bluffing.
