Our society is in mourning today. Mourning the losses of two innocent black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Both men lost their lives by the hands of police officers who vowed to protect and serve. During this turbulent time, we must demand justice and pray that we can be delivered from these senseless acts of violence.
When we as a country have innocent black men losing their lives because they were selling CD’s or reaching for their identification, something is seriously wrong. Let us all be in prayer and ask God to change the culture of our society. Let us pray that God will deliver us from the hands of trigger happy police officers, and help us become a nation full of love and respect for one another.
Let us also pray for the five police officers who were killed, and for those who were injured in Dallas. Today we ask God to comfort all of the families who are affected, and ask God to bring peace to their hearts.
It is my prayer that God will also bless the comments that we make – and order our steps in the marches that we make.
Let us live by the creed of non-violence, and allow God almighty to be the glue that brings us all together during this very difficult time. I pray this prayer this morning on behalf of the People’s Station, V-103 and News and Talk 1380 WAOK. In Jesus name, Amen.
