Maria Boynton Reports: Atlanta Clergy Call For Stricter Gun Laws To Help Curb Violence

Wednesday evening’s vigil at Atlanta’s Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church had been scheduled prior to the mass shooting in Orlando. It was initially planned to remember the 9 shooting victims at Mother Emanuel Church last year in Charleston, S.C. Last night hundreds gathered to remember the victims who were killed during Bible study, and the 49 victims gunned down over the weekend in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Residents attending the vigil told CBS Radio Atlanta’s Maria Boynton that “we must stand together in solidarity”, “this is a deep wound”, while others said they frequent night clubs and their mother and father “could have gotten the call that night.”
