Kidnapping stories usually don’t end like nine-year-old Willie Myrick’s.
And today he visited The Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith to tell it himself.
As you may recall, the southwest Atlanta boy was out walking his dog last week when he noticed some money in his front yard. And as Myrick was picking it up, he recalled, a man grabbed him and put him in his car.
Less than two hours after authorities arrived at the child’s home to investigate, Myrick was calling from a residence in nearby East Point. (And Atlanta Police spokesman John Chafee said the boy was not physically harmed during the incident).
“This is rare,” added East Point S.W.A.T. officer of 17 years, Lt. Cliff Chandler, who joined Myrick, his godmother Codetta, and Belise Michel from the Family YMCA at Buckhead, in the studio Wednesday.
