Essence.com tapped our own Shanae Hall for tips on surviving the holiday’s solo, and let’s just say the author of “For Single Ladies Only: Everything You Need to Know to Date Smarter” may very well offer as much of an assist around the relationship landscape as Martha Stewart would around the oven.
Matter of fact – that’s one of her tips: Get In The Kitchen.
“Even if you just make a small meal for yourself, get into the holiday spirit by perfecting your specialty dishes and being thankful for all that you do have,” Hall tells the online version of the popular women’s magazine. “And, if you have a special someone in your life that you do have interest in, stop being shy and invite him over or at least offer to bring him a plate. There is nothing sexier than a person that can cook!”
“I cook the soul food of THE WORLD,” added to V-103.com. “Turkey, stuffing, roast, sweet potato casserole greens with he smoked turkey, black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese and cranberry sauce – straight out the can!”
Read what else she suggested to Essence.com, and you could very well be going to the next holiday party with a date!
