Today on The Big Tigger Show, CNN anchor Don Lemon used an old medium of communication (the phone) to address the attacks he’s received on “Black Twitter.”
First, there was the response on social media (and more specifically, from black people on Twitter – or “Black Twitter”) to Lemon’s “Five Ways To Fix Our Community” commentary during his “No Talking Points” segment on CNN.
Maybe because it was, in part, an agreement with a point conservative Bill O’Reilly made about the black community. Maybe because it came shortly after the George Zimmerman verdict in the Trayvon Martin case – and racial tensions were high.
Whatever it was…
“People just went crazy!” Lemon said. “And guess what? That was the first time in my entire career that I had talked about self responsibility.”
Then there was his more recent blog on BlackAmericaWeb titled “Adrian Peterson ‘Seems More MIA, Than MVP’.” (Which again, some took to task, because it was done shortly after the NFL star’s two year-old son died; reportedly of child abuse).
Similar online fury ensued. And Lemon remains, unmoved.
“I’m not a race protector, I’m a journalist.”
