Mother Needs Money To Bury Her Child
Atlanta (WVEE)-The mother of the seven-year-old child who was killed in a one car accident on September 20 needs help to bury her child. Erica Lewis spoke to V-103’s Egypt today to appeal to the community for help to raise enough money to cover funeral expenses.
Ms. Lewis – still very distraught over the death of her son, Jamal – told Egypt that he was a fun-loving child who always made her laugh.
Jamal was killed instantly when he was thrown from a car being driven by a family friend. Fourteen-year-old Sandterric Lewis and 5-year-old Jasmine Lewis, were seriously injured. The accident happened on the Highway 92 exit ramp off I-20 when Douglasville police say the driver missed the exit and then may have overcorrected, causing her SUV to roll over.
A memorial fund to cover the funeral expenses for Jamal Lewis has been set up through Wells Fargo Bank. You can donate what you can to the Lewis Family Memorial Fund.
A candlelight vigil will also be held tonight (Friday) at 5 p.m. at 1340 Nash Road in English Park.
The funeral for Jamal Lewis is scheduled for Monday, September 30 at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church at noon. Willie Watkins Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
