In the fast-paced society we live in, you may find yourself forgetting to count your blessings. The Ryan Cameron Morning Show received a letter from a listener & mother than hadn’t stopped counting her own; a story so compelling, Ryan wanted to do something special for her & her daughter.

Kristen Mackenzie is a normal 8-year-old girl. Loves American Girl dolls. She does extremely well in school. And she has a very infectious smile.

Kristen is also a two-time cancer survivor – lung and eye – and does not have sight in her right eye. And this resonated with Ryan because he does not have vision in that eye either.

Despite the very difficult circumstance, Kristen’s parents try to make her life as fun as possible by having individual “dates” that involve a friendly competition to try to outdo the other parent. Her father took her to a Hawks/Heat game, while mom tried to one-up him by getting Beyonce’ tickets. (But unfortunately, they had already sold out).

Instead, she bought tickets to the 1st Annual Gospelfest, where one of Kristen’s favorite performers, Mary Mary, will be headlining.

All that Kristen’s mom wanted was a shoutout since they would be sitting front row at the concert. They weren’t asking, expecting, or imagining what was going to happen next.
