Atlanta, GA (WVEE) – Morehouse College police have confirmed an arrest in Friday night’s campus shooting that left a Morehouse student injured.
Reportedly, 22-year-old Clark Atlanta University student, Amir Obafemi was arrested Saturday afternoon and booked into the Fulton County jail. .
Police also suspect another person may have been involved in the incident in addition to Obafemi.
Police Chief Vernon Worthy said, “We think it’s totally irresponsible to have a weapon on a college campus, let alone discharge it. That’s why we’re pursuing the perps right now.”
He said the shooting stemmed from an argument after a pick-up basketball game at the gym.
Morehouse President John Wilson says they’re working with other agencies to get things under control.
