“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” (Proverbs 14:30)
What someone else has, the blessings that other people get, should be of no concern to us.
Yes celebrate for them, pray for them, or do nothing at all.
But we absolutely must not do is envy them.
Be cautious not to wish them harm or lust after what they have. When we slip into envying others, we immediately block ourselves from the goodness that God has intended for our life. We sour ourselves from the inside out.
It’s like smiting God by saying: “I don’t want anything you have for me; instead I want what you gave Cheryl, or Rob, or Bridgit. I want their car, I want their relationship…”
Every blessing has a name on it. What good are we doing by wanting something that is not intended for us? What is for you is FOR YOU! No one can stop what HE has planned, all attempts are futile.
Instead of living a life full of envy, choose to focus your heart on peace. There is no bigger blessing than a lifetime full of peace and favor.
