Lupe Fiasco took his bristling political rap to an inaugural ball event on Sunday (January 20) night and was booted from the stage.

Fiasco reportedly performed his anti-war hymn “Words I Never Said” for more than 30 minutes before concert organizers decided to pull the plug, according to Politico.

“Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist,” he rapped. “Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say [expletive]/ That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either/ I’m a part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful.”

While this was an unofficial inauguration party designed to celebrate Barack Obama’s second term, concert organizers StartUp RockOn said Lupe’s silencing had nothing to do with his anti-Obama rap.

“Lupe Fiasco performed at this private event, and as you may have read, he left the stage earlier than we had planned,” StartUp RockOn said in a statement. ”Lupe Fiasco was not ‘kicked off stage’ for an ‘anti-Obama rant. We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.”

Despite the overwhelming support Obama enjoys within the hip-hop community, Lupe has been an outspoken adversary to the President’s policies. In September, he and D.L. Hughley engaged in a war of words after Lupe advocated not voting in the presidential election.

“He’s bright as hell, but dumb in the ways of the world,” Hughley told Hot 93.7/Hartford. “Young black men are going to listen to him. They are the ones who have decisions made for them, [decisions] that they are not even involved in, which is silly to me.”

On Thursday (January 17), the rapper abandoned his Twitter page, where many of his controversies began.

“The #LF twitter is now closed,” he tweeted. “Please follow @DJBusy + @SNDCLSH for daily updates. Thank You.”
