Recently I received a letter from a case worker at the Shepard Center in regards to a 15-year-old Tydarius Currie.
TyDarius and his family are truly in need of some help.
His story left me sitting in my office almost in tears for 20 minutes as I tried to figure out how I could be of service.
What happened to him could have happened to anyone.
He was dancing and hitting cartwheels and landed the wrong way during one of his flips. He broke his neck and suffered severe spinal injuries which has left him paralyzed.

When I spoke to his mother Veronda Currie, she was literally in a state of shock and said she felt numb.
One could only imagine how a parent’s heart breaks when one of their children has no hope of living out their dreams as we would wish for them as parents.
The family has limited funds and is faced with having to make amendments to their home and vehicle so that TyDarius can be transported and live comfortably.

Additionally, a manual wheelchair and shower chair are needed and are not covered by his insurance.
Please join us on Wednesday as I partner with Derrick Boazman from 1380 WAOK in trying to give the Currie family some hope and assistance with the items they need
I know holidays can be tough but if you can even spare $5 or so, together we can help make a difference. To donate to the family click here. Thank you!
