The Game Talks Chris Brown Collabo Album, Drops New ‘Sunday Service’ Songs
The Game dropped two new songs on Sunday (November 18) as part of his “Sunday Service” campaign, in which he plans to release new music every Sunday leading up to the December 11 release of his Jesus Piece album. But with his new music comes other revelations, including the potential for a Chris Brown collaboration album in the future.
When asked about a Best of Both Worlds-styled album as a possible collaboration set with Chris Brown, Game left the door open.
“Chris Brown is Bobby Brown in hip-hop these days,” Game told CBS Local. “He’s the bad boy of R&B. He’s also like a little brother to me. Anytime I call him anything I need done it is done ASAP. Anybody else who calls him is gonna need $200k to get Chris Brown on the record. We make good music, who knows what would happen in the future. I’m not opposed to doing something like that.”
While Game has a special musical connection to Chris Brown, he boasts a gang of high profile collaborations on his forthcoming Jesus Piece album.
The track listing showcases tracks with 2 Chainz, Rick Ross (“Ali Bomaye”); Kanye West and Common (“Jesus Piece”); and Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Fabolous (“All That”). In a stunning display of star wrangling, Game enlists Tyga, Wiz Khalifa & Lil Wayne and Chris Brown for his lead single “Celebration,” which echoes Bone Thungz N Harmony’s “First of the Month.”
“It just happened kinda unsonically,” he told CBS Local. “[Chris Brown] heard it and was more than happy to do it. After that, it was pretty much easy to get everybody else on it. I played the Chris Brown hook for Weezy and he did it right on the spot. Tyga was working in the studio right next to mine, I got Tyga and on it the same night. I played it for Wiz and he was like, ‘I gotta get on this.’ But there wasn’t any more room. But Wiz was like, ‘I gotta put two or four bars on it.’”
