Season 5 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta is underway and we’re getting to see the ladies like never before. Nene Leakes, in her words, “has arrived”! Kim Zolciak has a new baby on the way and is looking for a new house.
Phaedra Parks has a new business venture, Kandi Burruss has a new love and new house and the cast has two new members, Kenya Moore and Porsha Stewart (who we’ll see in the next episode, said to be replacing Kim).
But what I will say we love the most is Cynthia Bailey‘s new lease on life. Last season the jury was still out on how the audience felt about Cynthia. She a shaky character, as a member of the “Talls” she really didn’t seem to have her own identity, but rather served as Nene’s shadow.
Well, all that has changed. Cynthia has stepped out and in just 2 episodes we’ve seen her as a business savvy black woman (working with her Bailey Agency and JET Magazine), wife, and mother who is not about the drama and not up for the *BS*! We’ve seen her check Kenya Moore and make it clear that the new girl needs to stand down. We also saw her tackle family issues with Leon (her child’s father) and Peter, her husband.
Cynthia and Peter stopped by today and had the phone lines lit up with listeners wanting to chime in on and get advice about how to deal with blended families. We even joked that they should teach a class on how to eliminate baby mama/baby daddy drama. Listeners called in to sign up! Lol!
In the interview, Peter addresses how he handles being the somewhat “silent partner” at times when Cynthia and Leon handle conflict involving their daughter Noel. He also talks about handling women who attempt to disrespect his marriage.
Listen closely because these two explain that how falling in love and getting married *coughs* in your 40’s can work, even with baggage. They’re also promoting their new relationship book “Baggage Claim”, set to hit shelves early next year.
Catch Real Housewives of Atlanta every Sunday at 9pm ET.
