Lupe Fiasco has upped the ante in his tiff with comedian D.L. Hughley. The rapper recently asked Hughley to put his money alongside his criticism.

Last week, D.L. criticized Lupe’s stance against voting. “He’s bright as hell, but dumb in the ways of the world,” Hughley told Hot 93.7/Hartford. “Young black men are going to listen to him. They are the ones who have decisions made for them, [decisions] that they are not even involved in, which is silly to me.”

Watch the clip below for full report on this story.

Lupe struck back on Monday night, with a series of tweets that defended his stance and challenged Hughley to collaborate with him to do help to make a difference in the world.

Better yet @realdlhughley you put up 50k and I’ll put up 50k and let’s flesh out some programs for rural & inner city youths our damn selves

Lupe has been a vocal opponent of President Obama’s. But he also said that rappers had no role in helping the president get elected.

Obama need swing states and white people not radical rappers kissing his ass to win this election..

The controversial rapper finds himself embroiled in this back-and-forth shortly after fellow Chicago rapper Chief Keef threatened him on Twitter (Keef later said his account was hacked). In May, Fiasco was beefing with producer Pete Rock, over a remake to Rock’s record, “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y).”

As for his latest Twitter rant, he concluded with the ball in Hughley’s lap.

When you ready to drop that bread for these babies out here @realdlhughley holla at me…til then #LeeMeAlone
