[VIDEO] Usher Teaches How To Hustle, Dougie And More
Usher literally moves into the video game world. At Monday’s (June 4) Microsoft Electronic Entertainment Expo, the singer explained his role in Dance Central 3, a popular XBox 360 Kinect video game franchise.
For the upgraded version of Dance Central, which will be released in the fall, gamers will be able to dance along to Usher’s hit songs “OMG ” and “Scream.”
“I was able to choreograph moves specifically from videos and live performances,” the singer told Showbiz 411 at the Expo. “The fans can literally learn the dances and how I move.”
Usher credited the technology that allows gamers to be joystick-free for capturing his interest in video games.
“Ive become a bigger gamer as a result of this,” he said. “I remember the first time I had the opportunity to stand in front of the screen and wave my hand and direct the entire game and mock the movement, it was pretty challenging. I consider myself an okay dancer. To be challenged in some way, was a lot.”
While Usher’s dance steps may take a while for the novice to master, he promises there is a dance for every level.
“It’s the type of game that brings the entire family together,” he said. “It’s not just my music it’s music of the past, it’s new dance crazes.”
Indeed, the new game will feature a wide variety of songs, which include 50 Cent’s “In Da Club,” Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” Van McCoy’s “The Hustle” and Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie.”
For those eager to get the moves like Usher, there may be a chance to transfer the video game workout into a real world party.
“Who knows,” Usher said, “there may be a flash mob (hint hint) and you may need to be a part of it (hint hint).”
