Dear Egypt,

I have listened to your advice letters and I think you give good advice. Normally I wouldn’t write in to a radio show to air my business but I’m so confused and really need some clarity.

I’ve been in a relationship with my fiancé for six years. Seven months ago we got engaged and things have been amaaaazing! He’s my best friend, we rarely argue, the sex is GREAT, and we share common goals. So you’re probably wondering why I’m writing. OK I’ll get to the point.

Last week we were both sitting in bed working on our computer and he got up to use the bathroom. I happened to glance over at his laptop and I saw that there was gay porn on his computer. Men on men everything! My head started spinning, I got nauseous, my heart dropped into my stomach and all kinds of thoughts went through my head.

I asked him why a straight man would be looking at gay porn and he said it accidentally popped up when he clicked on a site. He was upset that I would even suggest that he was gay or really intrigued by the site. Egypt I just can’t let this one go. But could he be telling the truth? There have been no signs in the past and I don’t want to mess up a good thing if he’s being honest. Help!

Signed,

Can’t Sleep at Night

Dear Can’t Sleep At Night,

This one is a dooooooozzzzzy. Have you ever heard the saying “believe only half of what you see and none of what you hear?”  There is a possibility that he IS telling the truth. I’ve opened up sites or mistyped a website address. One letter off can often guide you to the pits of Satan. So let’s not be so quick to FRY him without further investigation.

With that said, you need to head over to the doctor to get an HIV test asap! And keep getting them. Sometimes it can take a few years for it to show up on your test.

Secondly, deal with it head on. I don’t care if he gets mad or offended. You have a right to be vigorous when it comes to your life and your health. Ask him to take a lie detector test. Talk to his friends and exes. Ask as many questions as you need until you feel satisfied that you have enough information to make a decision. Don’t be afraid to go to extremes on this one!!! That’s why we have private detectives (side eye).

And lastly, Listen to your gut!! That little voice is GOD. Too often we ignore our intuition and wind up wishing we didn’t.

Good Luck!

xoxo

Egypt
