Mystikal sent his last tweet Monday (May 14) before setting off to serve an 81-day jail sentence. He used the 140 characters to announce his new mixtape release date and share a link to the first single, “Bull S***.”
The new song is the first release from his forthcoming mixtape, Origins, which he said will be hitting late July. “Bull S***” finds the YMCMB rapper addressing his incarceration and the circumstances surrounding his return to jail.
“Same n**** that just got out of jail/ Same n**** that’s about to go back/ So what, the rapper got 90 more days/ Should have never hit that B**** in the head/ I know she pushed you and you probably felt played/ Bet you next time you gonna walk your ass away”
The references in the song unlock a tongue-in-cheek approach to Michael “Mystikal” Tyler’s problems with the law.
In February, he was arrested for a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse. In April, District Judge Tony Marabella sentenced Mystikal to 90 days in prison that was to begin May 14.
His legal woes began in 2003 when he pleaded guilty to sexual battery and extortion after his hairstylist accused him and his bodyguards of forcing her to perform sexual acts. He was released in 2010 after serving six years and signed to Lil Wayne’s Cash Money recording home, releasing the single “Original” in March.
His last tweet today, before he turned himself in to authorities, was a link to his new song and a message about what it meant to him to make.
“This Track #BullS**t is the most recent one I recorded,” he wrote. “It really soothed my soul coming out!”
