The soul singer, the blockbuster movie star, the New York Times best-selling author, the father, the subject of V-103′s next private “Conversation” and the remarkable motivational-speaker-in-the-making all walked into the room on two legs in the form of one Tyrese.

“It’s too much chocolate!” he announced playfully, flashing that smile that has been winning audiences over since he made his national bow in that 1994 Coke commercial.

With V-103 midday personality Egypt it was clearly old friends catching up. Having known each other more than a decade, Tyrese was so comfortable he was singing live at the end of his 2002 hit “How You Gonna Act Like That.” He clearly seemed taken aback as he recalled Martin Luther King III picking him up from the airport yesterday – the same day King III, and the world, marked the 44th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination. And the California native even took on the role of Atlanta ambassador (of sorts), welcoming recent New York transplant Egypt, and then declaring that she will NEVER leave.

“This is the only other city I would reside in,” he added. “Black people run this town. I love it!”

Next at V-103 sister station WAOK, the multi-hyphenate was first making the acquaintance of Mo Ivory. This time choosing to remain standing, Tyrese was spilling over with personal and professional advice – as well as even more intimate admissions.

“I’m in that space of uncomfortable truth,” he told Ivory, who after the first segment was moved to tears.

By the time Tyrese left CBS Radio Atlanta, however, it was back to laughs; courtesy of – who else?! – The Frank and Wanda Morning Show’s Wanda Smith.
