The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has released its final report on the death of entertainment superstar Whitney Houston, ruling it an accidental drowning.

The news broke as two of Houston’s personal and professional friends – Monica and Brandy – were in the V-103 studio with Ryan Cameron, who chose not to ask them for their immediate reaction. But earlier in the day during an interview with new midday personality Egypt – in advance of tonight’s “Conversation/Soul Session” with Brandy and Monica that she is hosting -Monica said that Houston “took care of me…She was more than just a musical idol. When things were happening in my life, when people were turning their back on me, she would come see me and make sure I was alright.”

Brandy had nothing to say as the news came across the televison in the studio Thursday afternoon, but in the midst of taking pictures the singer grabbed Monica in a teary embrace.
