Today on Powertalk with Lorraine Jacques-White, we took a deeper look at “Black Women on Reality TV”, and the impact they have on the image of  black women.  Our special guests were Yandy Smith from the VH1 reality show “Love & Hip Hop”, and Allison Samuels – a Senior Writer for Newsweek Magazine. Samuels is also the author of the article “Reality TV Trashes Black Women.”

The show was extremely energized as Yandy Smith give her take on her experience this season on   VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop”, and her personal view on the images black women portray on reality television. In addition, Senior Newsweek Writer Allison Samuels educated our listeners on how reality television has damaged the image of black women.
